How does consolidating store credit cards affect your credit?
I recently opened an Old Navy card and then went into the Gap where the sales guy told me I should have opened one with them because there rewards are better. I was talked into opening a Gap card, but I really don't want both. Does consolidating them hurt my credit? I have only had both of them for about two months.Old Navy and Gap does allow you to consolidate the cards.I always pay all my cards in full. When I opened the other card I was tired and hungry and I did not understand that they were virtually the same card. It is easy to consolidate them through the company, I am just wondering if the act of consolidating them will ding my credit even more than opening it in the first place. Should I leave both of them open for awhile and then consolidate later or do right away. They both have zero balances.
What is a good debt-consolidating company?
My fiance and I had all of our credit cards paid down, and his father passed away, and our dog almost passed away a week later. So needless to say, we had a lot of things to pay for and our cards got ran up, and we had to get another $1300 card just to pay the veterinary hospital. Our debt all together is about $2500. Does anyone know of a good legit company to pay off our cards and put it all onto one, so we can make one big payment a month? I always hear these stories about people getting scammed, and I am really nervous I don't have any dings on my credit other than my cards now being at over 50 % of the credit limit , and I don't want any We want to get all of our stuff paid off before we buy a house in the next couple of years. Would it be smarter just to get another credit card and use it to pay off our other ones?
What is the best way to consolidate debt?
I have a bunch of credit cards that I'd like to minimize by consolidating without a huge fee for this service.
Financial Problem. I need to consolidate my credit. The details are below..?
I have no source of income right now, working on getting a job to save up money for University in 2011. To receive OSAP Ontario Student Assistance Program which funds most of my way through school, I need to pass a credit check. That means I have 1 year to pay off my debts and reestablish my credit. The problem is, I have 2 credit cards both maxed out at $1000.00 and $600.00. And, a 3 year contract with a cell phone that for $600.00 I can cancel and around $450.00 will cover the outstanding additional money I owe on that cell phone account. So a total of around $2650.00 is the total amount of money I owe to 3 seperate places.I need a way to converge this down into me owing a lump sum to 1 place. Say, If I were to get a bank loan to pay off all of my debts and then owe the bank in return? I just need good advice on consolidating all my debts AND it needs to be as friendly as possible to my credit score. Because I wont recieve OSAP in a year if my credit score is bad and therefore, no University of Toronto. I really need help and I am not sure who to turn to because I have heard a lot of financial institutions are biased and crooked. Please help Thankyou TC that's not very helpful because the point of this is that I am out of work right now and looking for a job, so I need ideas on how to pay the debts all off that will be easier on my credit score..I know it's already damaged but this is damage control now...or I won't be able to get OSAP and go to University 2011....
Should I consolidate all my Credit Card Debts to just 1 card?
I have 4 cards, all with less than $800 on them, I'd say I'm at $2,500 total, but they all have very high interest like 24 % because they're store cards like Best Buy, but since I hardly have much on any of them the payments are low.Should I get a credit card through my credit union and charge all debts to that one card and only pay 1 bill? Or will I be paying a heavier fee since the balance will be greater? Thanks
