Do you think it would be a good idea to use the money i have from stocks to pay off some credit card debt?
i'm full of questions today loli was wondering if i could get a solid opinion from someone on an idea of have about paying off a bit of my credit card debt.i invested in two stocks. i don't really have a lot of money in either of them, but i think combined, they might be worth $1400. Between the two, i initially invested $2000 when i first started. My dad pretty much oversees my payments, though i give him the monthly money due for each payment, so i'm not entirely sure right this moment, off the top of my head, what my balance is. i know that like many others, my interest rate is ridiculous, but i was wondering do you think it might be a good idea to use my money from my stocks to try to pay off some of my debt, or is that not the best idea and instead keep the money invested in the stocks? It's not like i'm in an urgent need to pay off my credit card, it's just more so i'm very limited to what i can do since i put so much money towards monthly payments i try to pay more than the minimum payment . i'm just anxious in wanting to just pay it off in full so i can have more money for leisure activities and whatnot. Thanks in advance for any input.
I have been served with judgment documents on a credit card debt?
I need to go to court tomorrow but I'm unsure on what to say. I did incurred on the debt, but fell behind due to unemployment issues. I contacted the person who was in charge of collecting the debt in behalf of the credit company, and she said that the only way to resolve this was by paying the debt in full. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of cash, so tomorrow I will be going to court, but I don't know what to do, should I denied de everything or should I let the judge know that I attempted to negotiate with the credit card company and that they were unreasonable? or ask for an extention or ask for a dismissal based on the fact that the credit card company did not attached a copy of the original contract, however they attached a copy of one of my credit card bills from over 14 months ago, is this bill as good as copy of the original contract? Please help, I don't want this judgment to pass.
What is the best credit card debt consolidation company?
Is it worth "settleing" with credit card debt collectors>?
My wife payed the reduced " settlement" amount to a collection agency for an old Capital One credit card in February. She thought the account was settled and closed as they said in their letters. Now in July she receives another notice offer regarding the same account from an entirely different collection agency I don't trust these outfits. How do you know they are properly recording anything on your behalf that will help your credit rating.

What is the statue of limitations on credit card debt in South Carolina?

Will paying off my credit card debt in full increase my credit score?
I'm 19 and a sophomore in college. I made a lot of stupid mistakes and have accumulated about $1500 in debt on credit cards to department stores, and have had several late missed payments. I have a job and plan to have all of my cards paid off in full by September. Will my credit score increase significantly once this debt is gone? I'm concerned that it will really hurt my chances of buying a house when I graduate.
Is it better to have credit card debt or an installment loan on your credit report?
I am being sued for old credit card debt in Colorado. Do I need to submit a case managment form?
I have answered the summons and am proceeding with discovery, etc. However, the opposing attorney has filled out a case management form. Am I supposed to file one as well? In the form, she has she attached a certificate of compliance stating that she we have met and I am open to settlement discussion. The only communication we have had is that she sent me a letter saying it is the first attempt to contact me re. settlement and they will call me in the next few days. She has not called, and I am not interested in a settlement anyway. How do I object to this? Thanks, CatDad, I have already done all you have suggested. Don't know when I defaulted, but it was no later than April 2004 because I have saved letters sent to the original cc agency asking for debt validation at that time. I just want to be sure I am following all the procedures I need to from a legal standpoint, and Colorado has this new " case management" requirement and I want to be sure I take the right steps. I am well aware of all that is required to make them prove the debt, etc. but I don't want to have the case go wrong due to not following the right steps.
