Ok well when we bought this house my dad borrowed money from both of my uncles to pay for the house and insurance and everything. He was working 2 jobs and still didn't have any money. this was for the recent house by the way Well when we sold our old house we lost profit. Well when we bought our new house my dad had borrowed from both of my uncles. He was in alot of debt from here on. He owed at least 100000 dollars to them. They didn't ask him to pay back and he didn't pay them back even a penny over all these years. And just recently me and my mom found out about this. He didn't tell us because he didn't want us to be worried and sad. Well my dad and uncle got into a huge fight. Well now both of my uncles are demanding all of the money now. My dad got laid off in december. And hasen't had a job since. My mom is the only one making money in this house. Well so my moms the only one that can pay the debt. We tried to make a agreement that we payed them 400 dollars a month. Well they didn't accept it. They need more. Well my mom only makes about 1200 dollars a month. She has to pay for food, my school i go to a private school and to keep everything running. Theres no way my mom can pay more then that. And well the thing is this isn't a official debt. NO papers were signed. SO im wondering what would happen if we weren't able to pay this debt off. And can someone give us advice what to do from here? please this is tearing our family apart, my dads crazy. he can't get any sleep and my whole family is under so much stress
Does paying old credit debt help raise your credit score?
I was told by a car salesperson that paying a company whose already wrote you off to a collection agency and it's been years afterwards 3 to 4 years , that it doesn't do you any good to pay them back because your credit score will not go up, the only thing that can help raise your credit score is current bills that establish your credit. Is this true or not?

Hi im having a little problem because of my score.Back in February i applied for a 20,000 dollar car loan and was declined but they offered me 10,000.I took the 10,000 and got a Dodge charger great car but not what i really wanted.Ive never was late on a payment and i have someone who wants to buy it back for 10,000 so its a win win for me.I currently have 8,400 remaining on the loan and with the extra 1,400 im going to clean my credit up.I have around 1800 in credit cards and personal loans and 2 collections accounts.Is it possible when i pay everything off my credit will go up to where ill be able to take out 20 25 Grand i only had credit for 1.5 years...Plz help my score is 514 mainly because the debt to credit ratio.

Hi,I got my experian report and I have a Chase credit card account that I never paid. It's 2,735.00 and i'd like to pay it off, but don't really know what's best to do. The status is Closed. $875 past due as of Jan 2010.Creditor statement Purchased by another lender.So, who do I call to pay this off? The other lender, or the original creditor Chase Bank.What do i request in writing? Any other request or information I should ask for?Thanks.

Hi Everybody,As a Normal Middle Class Person, I too have a couple of Loans and Debts. I also have some Credit Card Outstanding. Things were running pretty fine for the past three years since my first Loan. After my Father got retired, and my mom fell sick, i ended up taking care of the family all alone. Now, I am really in a very panic situation where everymonth my commitments are exceeding my Income. I managed the show by somehow borrowing and doing some internal adjustments. Even that has come to a deadlock situation. Could you please help me in this situation? 1 I really want to avail for one loan using which i can close all my debts, pay my credit card outstanding and pre close my two loans. I tried reaching to few banks but i was said that i dont have eligibility.2 I want to know if i can earn money, atleast to pay off my monthly bills, in part time.Yes, I have enough loans that are stopping me from doing this consolidation.

So heres the story, I want to raise my credit score and fix my credit, and I know it will take time,I have charged off credit cards, and old bills. some companies have offered settlement for less than the ammount owed, will settling help my report or will I just be wasting money?, and what can I do about the charged off credit cards? I have heard about the pay for delete option for charged off credit cards, but is it likely that they agree to this option?, any advice from people with experience on this subject is much appreciated.

I have an AMEX that is over the limit and is in bad standings for about 2 yrs now, I am making payments on it through some program they set me up on. But I was wondering would it help my credit if I opened a secured credit card and only spent 20 a month and paid in full every month? While still paying off the AMEX which I plan on doing in 6 months. Thank you

Lets see im 19 and when i was 18 I got two credit cards and didnt pay them off and one was for 200 and one was 500. Also I hit a car and owe an insurance company 2000. And not to mention a surgery procedure I had done for another 2000. I feel like I have really messed up in life already but I can bounce back right?
