Yes and luckily is a lot of advice on debt management on the web. There are 3 main kinds, the official goverment insolvency schemes such as an IVA, fee free schemes run by charitys and fee charging debt management schemes. they all have good and bad points. If you live in the UK you can find out all about debt management at talkaboutdebt.co.uk

There are a lot of options if you are in trouble. Golden rule pay the mortgage/ rent 2nd, feed the kids 1st and everything else is 20th in line, no matter how many Indians call you! As for all other debts, if your mortgage is up to date, if you have one, consolitate debts into your mortgage, only if you think your in real trouble. Most personal debts are for short term gain, so paying them over 25 or 30 years is not wise, but practicle if in trouble. Otherwise, consolitate everything else into one personal loan, or a 2nd short term loan to your home loan. Sorry heaps of options, but without the numbers its hard to help, a lot of places can. Everything from your bank manger to the St Vincent de Paul depending on your budget and circumstances. I think St Vins offer a free advice service? Really depends on how bad things are. Best advise I can give, dont do nothing! A lot of people get into trouble, and a lot trade out so to speak. GOOD LUCK!

A debt management plan is a budget where you pay your priority bills (rent, food, council tax, gas, etc) and leave your non priority bills like unsecured loans, credit cards and catalogues. These only get what is left, even if it is £1 per month. The Consumer Credit Counselling Service will help you draw up a plan without charge, DONT pay companies who charge a fee. However you may want to see if you could use the law to get these non-priority debts cancelled altogether. I used bdebtfree.info and they were very helpful.
