What is the best way to start getting rid of debt?
my spouse and i have debts that we want to start paying off this year, we want to get into a house and stop wasting money on paying rent. Once we have all the debts payed, how long do we need to wait till we can goto a bank and get a morgage with out to much guff, and all the red tape in the way? The amount of debt is under 10,000.so in other words, we should start living in the oldin days, eat by candle light, and start a fire in the stove to keep warm and get ride a very realiable car and go spend more money that we don't have to buy another car so we don't have payments, and we can live off the land to eat. this goes to the first person to answer
Help with getting rid of debt?
I have a little less than 10,000 credit card debt that I am trying to get rid of it. I haven't used any of the cards in over a year. It is a total of four cards that rage from 20 % 25 % in APR. I have never missed a payment or have been late but it seems like I will never pay them off. I always pay more than the minimum payment also. Recently I have been getting alot of offers for credit cards with 10 % and 12 % APRs. I was wondering if there was a loan that I would be able to get with lower interest rates to pay off those credit cards and close them out, and I just pay the loan off in the amount of time agreed. For example such as an auto loan or home loan where you know you pay a certain amount and in so many years you are done. With these cards it seems like there is no end in sight. I don't have any collateral either. I was wondering if anyone knew of any programs out there that might be able to help me. Here are some other expenses that I have every month. After taxes I bring home $2000 $2300 a month$800 House Note$70 Car insurance$50 Truck Insurance$109 Student Loan Payment$400 Child daycare expensesCapital one Card about $2200.00 owed 22 % APRChase about $1800 owed 21 %APRBest Buy Card about $1700 owed 22 % AprMacys Card about $1000 owed 25 % AprJust looking for some advice. ThanksI asked same question a few days ago. I'm just looking to see if there are any other suggestions out there that might help me.

What is the term for getting rid of debt by simply ignoring it?
For bonus points when was it that France decided to do this while England dug down and paid it off? It was after some war...maybe Spanish Succession? Or Austrian? I'm not trying to " quiz you" , but I learned these and forgot them. xDI need it for a big public forum debate tomorrow, so timeliness is appreciated. DThanks for the help so far, I'll try to clarify. This is the time period of, say, the War of the Quadruple Alliance 1720 ish. Give or take fifty years. xDAnd I know it doesn't work, thats the point. This wreaked France as most nations would not lend them money, while England had a good credit standing. I just...need...the freaking word. xD

What is the best way to fix your credit and get rid of debt?
Maybe I should emphasize that just about all of my debt is due to medical bills that were unknowingly uncovered by my excellent insurance company. Random services were never paid and I was never informed of them. I am talking random services over a period of 10 years and at least 20 different doctors who never contacted me. I only recieve lawyer collection notices....and trust me I know it is twisted. I have cleared up 5 already and it takes me weeks of becoming everyones secretary and receptionist. Most of them were actually liable to be paid by the provider who failed to process the insurance claim. I really do not have time to figure out each and every doctor and go through this whole long process with each one? Help Should i just quit my day job and become a self employed fixer of everyone elses screw ups maybe? < joke haAdding one last note My insurance company covers 100 % of my medical services so over the period of 10 years all but these random little loophole mysterious collection collector debts were payed. Some of which I even needed referrals from my insurance company for services and I got them. I feel so scammed here

Getting rid of debt?
I see tons of commercials for getting rid of your credit card debt by refinancing your mortgage home loan. The problem is, I don't own a car or a house, I work part time, and I'm a full time student. Are there companies that do debt consolidation, etc. for people like me?
