Could inflation help me get out of debt?
My wife and I have way too much mortgage debt around 5 times our combined annual salary and our salaries are both indexed to inflation for the most part. Could a terrible run of inflation help us to get on top of our mortgage debt if our salaries go up the same amount? Are we better off being very much in debt as opposed to not at all in debt if tremendous inflation is coming our way? Thanks for your feedback.

How do I deal with THIS? help me get out of debt?
I'm 24, one year left of college, working part time, I have no assets and I owe 17k to a credit card co. I've probably been called by more than one collection agency in the past year and a half since I stopped paying. So I have a couple of questions that would really help me in coming to the best solution. Should I just talk to the collection people negotiate for a lower settlement? Would I be able to pay monthly or would they require me to pay in full if they take a reasonable amount off the debt? Or should I call the credit card co directly and talk to them? What would I say to them, negotiate ? I can't afford more than $150 monthly, at least not until I finish school...but they wouldnt take that into their calculations, would they? I've heard stories that people continued to pay like $1 towards the debt...would I be able to do that? thanks a lot
Can someone help me get out of debt? I have over $20,000.00 in debt and not much of a job. Any help?
Help me get out of debt!?
I have the following interest bearing debt Credit Card $8,350 locked at 3.99 % with monthly payments of $180.Consolidated student loans $19,850 locked at 4.625 with interest only monthly payments for another year currently of $80Other student loans $6,250 currently at 6.00 % that can fluctuate to a maximum of 8.5 % with current monthly payments of $110I am taking any 'left over' money generally between $200 $500 at the end of each month and putting it towards paying these off one at a time. My gut tells me to pay off the credit card first, because it has the highest minimum monthly payments, and the interest paid isn't tax deductible like the other loans, but it has the lowest interest rate. Is there anybody out there that does this stuff for a living that can help me out with what order to pay these off in? and why? Thanks
