Any tips on how to avoid "crash dieting"?
I believe that there is no such thing as a diet, it's a life change. But I'm using the term diet because it's the only word that I can use to better explain my question. So my question is, how can I avoid crash dieting? The thing with me is, I can do real good all day as far as proper nutrition goes, but at the end of the day mostly at night time I feel like I need sugar and I try to avoid that feeling with a protein shake but it doesn't help. And it is hard to go with low sugar throughout the day, especially after a kick ass workout. So do you have any tips on how I can avoid that sugar feeling or is there something I can eat to satisfy it? or should I shut up and not cry about it, lol So yea please help. P.S. My workout is great so that's nothing to worry about. My goal is to lose body fat and gain some muscle, I want to get lean ripped.

Hi, I am a mother of 2. With my first pregnancy I gained 60 pounds and almost lost all of it within 7 months with healthy calorie counting diet and walking. Second pregnancy, I ate healthy and gained about 30. But due to stress and a lot of problems I was unable to keep myself away from the food I like. I did lose some weight, but I still have more to go. Now, I am 10 day away from visiting my in laws and relatives...and I am worried. They have commented on my weight many times in the past, they are skinny people and never feel like myself around them. I am 5 feet 6 inches and my weight was around 130 pounds. I am really scared. One time one of them said...how can you have anemia when you are this fat. I want to go on a crash diet to lose some weight. I am planning to eat several small HEALTHY meals but a total of 500 calories a day. I am planning once I come back to go on a 1500 calrie diet with exercise to lose the rest and then maitain a healthy lifestye. My qestion is this, how bad is crash dieting really if you do it short tern and eat very healthy things? And if you keep a healthy lifestyle after it, do you gain the weight back?
