Question: Can one night of pigging out throw off my weight loss?

I have been on a strict diet and exercise plan for the past month but yesterday i pigged out and cheated today i'm back on my diet tho can this one night completely throw me off? and can i gain weight from it.

I would say that is a possibility. If you want to feel better just do the antidote binge-You ate a lot yesterday, so exercise MORE than you pigged out yesterday. Just don't start from the beginning. You didn't fail, you just hit a little speed bump. Good luck, mate!

You'll probably notice a jump in weight over the next one or two days after a binge; you're body is hungry for fat and will immediately store it in your body. That with the probably high intake of sodium from snacks will make it seem like you've gained all your weight back. However, if you return to your diet and continue exercising, you CAN work it off quite quickly and will continue on losing weight. I'd suggest drinking a LOT of water over the next week to flush your system; this might add water weight but in the long run will help in getting your weight back down over a week or so.

Think about the long term. Over a couple months of proper diet, one night of indulgence averages out to very little net effect. Obviously, you shouldn't make a habit of this kind of thing, but c'mon. Everyone's allowed to eat some wings and pizza for the superbowl :) I know I did. Even if your scale weight is up a bit today, just be patient. Salty foods and water retention can have that effect. Don't stress, and enjoy the rest of your diet.
