What does this mean?? does this mean doctors care more about womens health?

Question: What does this mean?? does this mean doctors care more about womens health?

(Posted by: Zach on 2009-12-01 20:41:24)

I just read this: As children, boys are taken to the doctor for annual check ups by their parents just as often as girls are. However, as girls reach reproductive age, they are programmed to have annual gynecological examinations. This helps to create a pattern of preventive and routine medical care for women. Men, however, do not have the same patterns of medical care and will discontinue annual check ups after puberty. What does that mean?? Does it mean doctors only care about womens health?? Why don't men see urologist at the age of 16??

Men have far fewer reproductive health issues than women. Women are much more likely to have problems at a young age than men. Also, men can see most of their reproductive organs and are much more likely to recognize when there is a problem than women. All our stuff is hidden. When people get to be about 50, things even out again. Men start getting their prostate checked and all kinds of other things.

To put it bluntly, because men don't have vagina, uterus or ovaries(or any other woman organ). Men do not need all of that care simply because we do not go through half the crap(don't mean to offend anyone by putting it that way but every time I remember my VERY detailed anatomy classes I thank god I don't go through any of that). A vagina can get infected in any number of ways and even if it doesn't regular checkups are recommended. Hope this helps. Good luck to all women around.
